Firming Eye Cream Recipe That Really Work!
Hi Everyone! Jenni from Jenni Raincloud here! Some of you might remember me from my post on a Vitamin C serum. I’m a huge believer in DIY skin care. Unfortunately we live in a time where everything we consume is filled with chemicals, and if it’s not, it’s outrageously expensive. I created my own skin care so that I could avoid anything that wasn’t 100% natural. I love to come up with new recipes and just recently I posted a recipe for an Eye Firming Serum-I love this easy recipe-it’s a quick fix for wrinkles around the eyes. The only thing about this serum is that it’s a gel, which isn’t very moisturizing. I decided to formulate a recipe for an eye CREAM-this eye cream is full of anti aging ingredients that will help long term but also the cream contains caffeine which will tighten and firm short term! Basically this cream covers all the basis!
DIY Eye Cream
This easy DIY is full of goodness for your eyes. You could not go to a department store or spa and get this amazing of an eye treatment. I honestly believe that. If you could-you would spend an arm and a leg!!!

- Rosehip oil– Rosehip Oil is one of the most popular oils for anti aging. It penetrates deeply into the lower layers of the skin where it regenerates cells and increases collagen production. It is rich in vitamin C, Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids and retinoic acid, which studies have shown it brightens and tightens skin! It also helps restore skin’s elasticity, fade age spots, reduce broken capillaries, and balance oil glands.
- Green Tea contains caffeine. It is full of antioxidants and has anti inflammatory properties to help soothe and calm skin. Caffeine will actually tighten skin, too! I’m sure you’ve heard of cellulite treatments containing caffeine, that’s because caffeine is a diuretic. It will dehydrate fatty cells so that water will disappear from the surface of your skin. Caffeine is a vasodilator, which means it tightens skin.
- Carrot Seed essential oil contains a HUGE amount of antioxidants, vitamin C and Vitamin K. Carrot seed oil has been found to enhance the body’s immune response to UV rays, which can decrease skin damage from UV exposure. Carrot Seed oil is healing and rejuvenates skin cells. In fact, carrot seed oil helps to heal eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis because of its ability to stimulate cell growth and repair damaged skin. It is a common ingredient in eye treatments.
- Lavender essential oil is my favorite oil-it is calming, healing and moisturizing as well as anti fungal, antibacterial and antiseptic! Why I add it in this cream is for the smell. It has a heavenly smell that cuts the carrot smell!
- Sweet almond oil is full of vitamins D, E, B1, B2 and B6, calcium, potassium, and magnesium. Almond Oil is light and absorbs easily. It helps to purge the pores of impurities therefore helping clear skin. It has anti inflammatory qualities. Using sweet almond oil daily can greatly reduce dark circles under the eyes as well as scars and dark spots. It helps to renew skin cells and rev up circulation. It is wonderful at nourishing dehydrated skin. I believe it is one of the top (if not #1) carrier oils for reversing the signs of age. In fact, it is said to be the closest to the oil found in a babies skin!
- Vitamin E helps fight wrinkles and has a firming effect on the skin.
Ingredients you’ll need:
- 1/4 cup green tea
- 1/8 tsp. NeoDefend
- 1 tbsp. rosehip seed oil
- 1 tbsp. sweet almond oil
- 1/4 tsp. vitamin E
- 1 tsp. emulsifying wax
- 1 drop carrot Seed essential Oil
- 3 drop lavender Essential Oil
- Brew a cup of green tea.
- Fill two medium sauce pans about half way full of water.
- Place a glass bowl with a spout in each pot and turn on stove to medium heat.
- Add wax, rosehip seed oil, vitamin E oil and sweet almond oil to one pot.
- Add green tea and NeoDefend to the other pot.
- Heat both mixtures until the emulsifying wax has totally melted.
- Check temperatures of both pots with a thermometer like this one.
- **BOTH mixtures must be the same temp before you combine them or your cream won’t set.**
- When both your oil mixture and water mixture reach around 130 degrees, pour your water mixture into your oil mixture.
